A free felt piano from Björn Groos (Pianobook), played in Decent Sampler.
Pleyel Felt is a 1970s Pleyel piano sampled by Björn Groos with its felt engaged, so the tone is very soft with little attack. He recorded it with two AKG C1000 microphones, capturing two dynamic layers, release triggers and pedal noises. A Sustain control holds notes for a long time, and you can play the sustains on their own for ambient beds. The sound is sweet and slightly old, which suits close, private moments, night scenes and gentle underscore. The piano is short, so the bass is thin. Two dynamic layers also limit expression, and downloading needs a free Pianobook account.
Worth knowing: You need a free Pianobook account to download it. The Kontakt version may not run in the free Kontakt Player, so use the Decent Sampler version.
