forms:piano

forms:piano is a free Decent Sampler instrument from Venus Theory. It was sampled from Benn Jordan's Yamaha upright, which can play itself from MIDI. Presets range from a plain piano to soft and tape-style versions, plus pad-like and bowed shapes. A Cycles control adds fifths and octaves above each note. There are attack, release and tone controls, with delay and reverb including spring and BBD types. It suits ambient underscore, documentary and slow, spacious cues. The catch is that it came from a quick test session, so it is not a deeply sampled piano. Some users also saw display problems until they updated Decent Sampler.
