A free upright piano from SampleScience, played in Standalone plugin.
Beskhu Upright Piano is a free, multi-sampled upright from SampleScience. Its tone is warm and lo-fi, with a rounded, homely feel. Built-in distortion, delay, chorus and reverb, plus a filter and an LFO, make it easy to roughen or blur the sound. It works for gentle lo-fi cues, retro or new-age textures and quiet ambient scenes. At under 160 MB it is light on disk space and on the processor. SampleScience gives little detail about the source piano or how it was recorded. It also does not work in Pro Tools, which rules it out for some post-production setups.
Worth knowing: A $0 download through Gumroad. The maker says it does not work in Pro Tools.
