1960s Piano is a free plugin based on a recording of an early-1960s Kawai Model 600, which SampleScience describes as a studio or semi-grand. The original recording was made by SBelmont. It has four velocity layers, a filter, an LFO and a room reverb. The sound is warm and slightly vintage, with a lo-fi edge. It fits nostalgic scenes, indie drama and gentle ambient cues. SampleScience gives no detail on the microphones or the room. It is a single sampled instrument with modest controls, so it will not replace a large concert library. It needs a 64-bit VST, VST3 or AU host.
